Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-identified (LGBTQ) individuals deserve equal respect and treatment within the UNC community, and they contribute an essential element to the diversity of the UNC community, enriching the intellectual and social life of the entire University. The UNC Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Office opened its doors full-time in spring of 2003. The office’s creation is a result of many years of active work on the part of students, staff, and faculty who saw the need for a more centralized and visible space to serve the needs of LGBT students and issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

B-GLAAD is a non-university funded campus organization dedicated to the concerns of the GLBT community and awareness of diversity in general. B-GLAAD strongly encourages the involvement of anyone, whether gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, or heterosexual, Appalachian affiliated or community member.

6. Bisexuals, Gays, Lesbians, & Allies (BGLA)   Site Details  
The Bisexuals, Gays, Lesbians, and Allies organization of North Carolina State University at Raleigh is set up to serve the Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Allied community of NC State as well as be a vehicle for education for the campus community. The group is``open to all students, faculty, and staff of NC State regardless of sexual orientation.

Our Mission: To provide outreach, support, information and sources for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning students, faculty staff, and their friends; to provide information and resources for the campus as a whole on the issues regarding sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, diversity and equality; to educate the WCU community on the issues of homophobia and heterosexism in all forms and to provide a social outlet for members and their friends and allies.
