Welcome to the online home of the Center on Halsted, the Chicago area’s community center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons.
GLAD is mainly a social group. GLAD also sponsors events other than the monthly social. GLAD hosts a popular weekend get-away and retreat. GLAD joins the Illinois Federation for Human Rights in the annual Chicago, IL Gay Pride Parade the last Sunday in June each year.

Gay and Lesbian Principians is a group of gay, lesbian and bisexual alumni of Principia College and/or Upper School and relatives/partners who are straight and supportive of the mission of the group. The group is formed to be a visible representation of the gay, lesbian and bisexual alumni of Principia.
