The Gay-Straight Alliance of Saginaw Valley State University is a student organization that has been formed and operates with the intent to promote tolerance, acceptance, and awareness pertaining to gender identity and sexual orientation.
Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center works to achieve respect and equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people through social service programs, advocacy, and education. Affirmations provides services to empower individuals and families, to build cohesive community, and to fulfill our responsibilities in society.
To enhance and celebrate the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. To enlighten and enrich the lives of all people through our visible participation in the larger community.
The Downriver chapter of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian,bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: * Support - to cope with society * Advocacy - enlighten an ill-informed public * Education - to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. * Confidentiality - to ensure the privacy of all members and visitors
