Musaic was originally founded in 1992 as a lesbian chorus, Octavia. After several men and non-lesbian women expressed interest in joining a "musical mosaic", Musaic was born. The choir both hosted and performed at Victoria's variety show¸ "Building Bridges" and provided musical support for the city's Pride Parades and World AIDS Day ceremonies.
