The purpose of the Michigan AIDS Fund (MAF) is to serve philanthropy. MAF is an intermediary support organization to and between philanthropy and HIV/AIDS organizations and those affected by the epidemic. MAF's goal is to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and to alleviate suffering caused by the epidemic. MAF fulfills its purpose by enabling philanthropy to effectively address the AIDS epidemic through grant making, technical assistance, collaboration, communication and fund raising.
The Downriver chapter of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian,bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: * Support - to cope with society * Advocacy - enlighten an ill-informed public * Education - to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. * Confidentiality - to ensure the privacy of all members and visitors
The Midwest AIDS Prevention Project (MAPP) is one of Michigan's largest and oldest non-profit, community-based organizations whose mission is the prevention of HIV transmission through AIDS education and safer sex information.

The purpose of our club is to represent a positive image of leather. We intend to heighten the leather and gay community's awareness that the leathermen and women of ICON Detroit represent togetherness and brotherhood with a deep commitment to support our brothers and sisters with AIDS.
