Dignity/San Jose, a local chartered chapter of DignityUSA, is a faith and support community of and for Catholic Lesbian, Gay , Bisexual and Transgender Persons, their Families, Friends and Supportive Others. We have been active in the San Francisco South Bay Area since 1983. We are an inclusive Catholic community in ministry, advocacy and outreach within Santa Clara County (CA) and nearby communities. New Spirit Community Church
We envision New Spirit Community Church as a place to come together in community to gain strength in order to work for change in the world (2000 Retreat small group vision) Within our first few months, our church has provided 300 volunteer hours toward building homes for Oakland families through Habitat for Humanity; preparing over 500 bag lunches for distribution to homeless youth on the streets of Oakland and Berkeley; involving the children in our congregation in our worship and church activities; holding spirit-filled, creative Sunday worship celebrations attended by 80 - 130 congregants and spiritual Wednesday night Prayer Gathering and providing needed support through home and hospital visits, and spiritual counseling. -
