We, the parents, families and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons, celebrate diversity and envision a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Only with respect, dignity and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings, individually and collectively.

The GLBTF is one of OU's oldest and most active organizations on campus. First formed as a Stonewall group in the early 1970's, it soon became the Gay Activists' Alliance which had to fight in the courts for the right to exist on campus. Later, the organization changed it's name to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance, and in 1991, the group formally recognized bisexuals by adopting another name, the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Alliance (GLBA).
