Ever wondered if any of the local men and women in blue prefers to protect and serve in lavender? The answer is an unabashed YES for the staff of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit (GLLU). The unit is staffed by two openly gay and lesbian members of the department, Sergeant Brett A. Parson and Officer Kelly McMurry. Since its inception in June 2000, the GLLU has dedicated itself to serving the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) communities in the Washington Metropolitan area and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
