We, the parents, families and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons, celebrate diversity and envision a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Only with respect, dignity and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings, individually and collectively.
GLAD is mainly a social group. GLAD also sponsors events other than the monthly social. GLAD hosts a popular weekend get-away and retreat. GLAD joins the Illinois Federation for Human Rights in the annual Chicago, IL Gay Pride Parade the last Sunday in June each year.
The purpose of The Phoenix Center is provide the highest quality of HIV/AIDS prevention and basic life skill education to the community as a whole, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, handicap, economic situation and social status. The Phoenix Center pledges to offer an atmosphere liberated from judgment and discrimination of any kind, in order to unite the people in the community and to build common ground, which is equal for all.
To create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and all those supporting the rights of these three groups of students. To educate the Loyola community and the larger society on issues that pertains to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities. To organize for the rights and equalities of all people.
