3. Wendy's Hope
Reaching Out to Lesbians With Cancer and Other Life-threatening Diseases: After Jacquelin Welter lost her partner, Wendy Sukman, to breast cancer in 1998, she launched Wendy's Hope, the first support group in Southern California for lesbians with cancer and other life-threatening diseases, their life partners, and other family members. A bereavement support group is also available.
The Gay and Lesbian Center is a research center devoted to the documentation of lesbian and gay history and culture by collecting, preserving and providing access to material on all aspects of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered experience. The website includes over 90 photographs of the Center and its resources.
Includes a library, database and files of local resources, a BBS and space which can be reserved for functions.
