The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Alliance serves as an umbrella group for a number of other groups on campus. These subgroups and affiliates include TNT (The Next Thing, a confidential support group for queer students of color), Hi T with Q (a queer study break), Quest (a support group for questioning students) and others.

We, the parents, families and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons, celebrate diversity and envision a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Only with respect, dignity and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings, individually and collectively.
To offer support, information, resource and referral to the heterosexual partners of gay/bisexual men and lesbian women, in a safe and confidential setting. The group creates a sense of community which can decrease the painful sense of shame, secrecy and isolation so many straight spouses/partners can feel. Through mutual support and understanding group members are helped as they confront difficult issues in their lives.

The Alliance is a state-wide, nonpartisan organization formed to promote and secure full civil rights for Lesbians, Gay men, and Bisexual women and men in Rhode Island.
